How do you send a message to a Zulu device?
In general, the Zolo device works on both satellite, WIFI and cellular networks and will always use WIFI first, then cellular, and finally satellite.
You can send a message to the device in several ways:
Send as an app to app - you can send from the Zolo app at home to the phone number of the traveler who has the device installed on him or her and connected to the satellite device. In this case, the message should be sent to the traveler's phone number (and not the phone number of the satellite device). When selecting the recipient, you can filter the contacts by APP and see who installed it - anyone marked in green means they have installed the app and you can send them an app-to-app message).
Send as a text message - you can send a regular text message to the device to the phone number of the device that starts with +31 - in this case, you should send it as a text message from the phone and not from the Zolo app. Of course, the sending phone must be open to send messages abroad.
Send as email - send an email to the device's email address - you can send a regular email to the device's address - make sure to delete all unnecessary images and signatures and send only short text up to 160 characters.
Reply to chat from the device - if the device owner sends you a message to your phone number after you have installed the Zoleo app - you can always reply and continue chatting in the Zoleo app.
General - if the device owner is connected to cellular data or WiFi, you can send long messages, but if the message goes through the satellite device, the length must be up to 160 characters. Therefore, in general, it is always advisable to send messages up to 160 characters and this is suitable for any reception method, including satellite.
Can I make a reservation if I don't know my final return date / if I end up shortening my trip?
In cases of long trip, planned for several months, there is no need to inform us. We continue your order and postpone your end date automatically to the next month, until your actual return date.
In cases of shorter trips that were changed, update us so that we don't charge you fully.
